Bang!

Hello Dear Citizen,

My name is Silver Persinger. I am 35 years old. I have lived in Richmond since the Fall of 1990, when I moved to Richmond to attend VCU. I work part time at the Library of Virginia and one night a week cooking at an Italian restaurant. I regularly attend and speak at Richmond City Council meetings and committee meetings. No other citizen even comes close to attending as many of these meetings as I do. I attend more committee meetings than any member of Richmond City Council.

This is the fifth time I have run for office, and my second time qualifying for the ballot. I ran for Richmond City Council last year and received over 900 votes. I also ran write-in campaigns for Mayor of Richmond and Lieutenant Governor. On Tuesday evening, I received a called from the City of Richmond's Registrar's office notifying me that I had qualified as a candidate for State Senate. I had been successful in collecting the signatures of 250 registered voters from the district in which I reside.

I decided to run after speaking with Mr. Luis Pantophlet regarding his plan run. He had told me one only needs 250 signatures and he also told me the deadline was June 12. Armed with that knowledge I began collecting signatures.

I am going to try to keep a blog to chronicle the interesting things that occur during the campaign. Feel free to subscribe so you will be notified when I make new entries. Or check back at www.votesilver.com and you can get to the blog from there.

Thanks for reading. Thank you for your interest and support.

Your humble servant, Silver Persinger
